Slick driving conditions cause early morning traffic problems

Heavy rain created dangerous road conditions across the Hudson Valley, and slowed traffic on numerous parkways this morning.
Wet roads are suspected to have contributed to a crash on southbound Saw Mill River Parkway. The crash happened before 4 a.m. in Hastings just before the Farragut Avenue exit (Exit 13).
First responders say the car flipped over and went into the woods, but they told News 12 the two people inside were not seriously injured.
A firefighter says the accident occurred in the exact same spot a few years ago when a car went off the road and hit a tree.  The stump of that tree prevented the car this morning from going further into the woods and possibly causing more damage. The accident was cleared from the roadway by 6 a.m.
County police say flooding closed several parkways as well this morning.
The southbound Bronx River Parkway at the County Center was closed for hours before reopening shortly before 8 a.m.
The Hutchinson River Parkway was also closed southbound at East Lincoln because of unpassable flooding but has also since reopened.
