News 12 spoke with business owners in Rockland County on Tuesday about the strike involving workers with Manhattan Beer Distributors.
The company is said to be one of the largest in the country. Their website says it services from Montauk to Monticello.
The restaurant serves the big names in beer and they hope they won't run out.
"You don't want to tell a customer, who may not know about this strike, that we don't have Heineken or Corona. Ya know?" said John Lyons, an owner of River Court.
Lyons says they found out about the workers going on strike from News 12 Tuesday morning. Manhattan beer is one of three distributors they rely on.
"We have some product in and hopefully it will be enough but to be told there's going to be no deliveries or no orders taken is quite a shock," said Lyons. Many other businesses in our area that also rely on the distributor are figuring out a game plan, too, like
Carlitos Tequileria inside the Palisades mall.
"We have some close partnerships with local breweries," said Carlos Castillo, the restaurant owner. "So if we need to add other beers in the meantime, etcetera, we're going to be leaning on them for sure."
Castillo says they get more than two dozen cases of beer delivered each week. They also have options on tap.
