Robbinsville Township police are touting the efforts of their drone unit in finding a missing child.
Officials say they received a 911 call for a missing child last seen running into a heavily wooded area. Police used drones with thermal heat technology to pick up heat readings of a person.
They say a certified drone operator from the Robbinsville Police Department Drone Unit was requested, along with a K-9 from the West Windsor Police Department.
Police say it took the drone about 10 minutes to find the child. They say the child was found unharmed and was later reunited with their family.
