IFLY Indoor Skydiving – Westchester in Yonkers is giving visitors a chance to experience the thrill of skydiving inside a vertical wind tunnel.
"Any guest can come, and they can feel what it is to replicate a freefall,” said Anthony Cruz, general manager of iFLY Indoor Skydiving.
Before taking flight, each participant goes through a short training session covering body positioning, hand signals, and safety tips. An instructor then stays by their side through the entire four-minute flight.
"It’s a very controlled environment,” Cruz explained, “if you're kind of afraid of heights or want to know what a bucket list item feels like but not sure you want to jump out of a plane, iFLY is a way to start."
For first-timers, the experience starts with learning to float and can end with a “high fly,” where guests soar up to 14 feet in the air. Flyers can even learn how to steer themselves with small hand movements to turn left, right or glide forward and back.
It’s an adrenaline-filled adventure that just might inspire some to take their next leap!
