Tina Moore, of Riverhead, has a connection to a popular Netflix docuseries.

Moore attended Academy of Ivy Ridge, a boarding school which is the subject of "The Program: Cons, Cults and Kidnapping." It’s alleged that rampant abuse took place at the school.

Moore said her time there was “hell.” She described it as “11 months of torture.”

Moore said in 2003, she was a “rebellious teenager.”

To get her help, her parents placed her in the upstate school.

She said while there, she witnessed girls getting restrained.

She described something akin to detention, where girls had to sit at the very edge of a seat with their knees together, and hands on their knees for hours. She said they’d go “numb.”

Moore said “brainwashing” took place at the school, but she was determined to get through her time there without being brainwashed.

She left after she turned 18.
