Rider University is set to lay off dozens of full-time faculty positions as it tries to claw out of a cash deficit.
Starting Dec. 1, officials say the university will reduce employee salaries, increase workloads, and suspend retirement contributions.
Beginning in the new year, Rider will also eliminate senior positions and employee perks like tuition remission, including those for adjunct faculty.
The university is currently on probation due to its financial shortfall. Officials say the difficult decisions are needed to address its money problems.
