Essex County Crime Stoppers increased the reward offered for information about the murder of a beloved street performer in Newark.
Crime Stoppers is now offering $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the murder of Eric "Uggie" Bowens.
Bowens was shot and killed Nov. 7 on the 200 block of Bergen Street. A motive for the shooting is not known.
Bowens was beloved by the community, and hundreds of Newark residents came out for his funeral.
Anyone who might have any information about the shooting is asked to call the prosecutor's tip line at 877-847-7432.
