Essex County Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for information regarding the death of a Maplewood soccer standout to $20,000.

Reward for information regarding killing of Maplewood teen increased to $20,000
Essex County Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for information regarding the death of a Maplewood soccer standout to $20,000.
Former Maplewood Mayor Fred Profeta has written a personal check for $10,000 and is also spearheading an effort to raise more funds for the reward.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says that Moussa Fofana, 18, was shot and killed at Underhill Sports Complex just after 9:30 p.m. on June 6. A second man was also shot but recovered.
“The most important thing is justice for Moussa Fofana. We want to see the person or persons responsible for his murder apprehended,” Profeta said in a statement.
