Residents are calling on the Department of Transportation (DOT) to put the return of bus shelters on the fast-track.
Many say that the shelters provided a safe and dry place to stand when the weather is bad. Some also say that it is an inconvenience to stand and wait in the open anywhere from 10-45 minutes while waiting for their bus.
The DOT says that some of the bus shelters were removed at Westchester Square during construction and will be reinstalled next year when the sidewalks are free.
Residents, however, are also demanding that when the shelters are reinstalled that they be updated with more benches.
