The superintendent of the East Brunswick School District is updating parents about the repairs to a water supply line that closed East Brunswick High School last week.
In a statement sent to parents, Superintendent Victor Valeski said that the excavation has been completed and the water line has been located. A fracture in the line has been identified and repaired.
Valeski said the next step is to pressurize the system to ensure that there are no additional breaks, and then, after flushing the entire water system, the excavated pit will be refilled and topped with a new concrete slab.
Velaski said that the goal is to reopen the high school for students and staff next Monday, depending on the successful completion of all test results.
Students are attending class virtually for the time being. Another update will be provided on Thursday.
