A New Jersey congressman says he stepped away from Capitol Hill for months while receiving treatment for depression.
Republican Rep. Tom Kean Jr. returned to Congress after a three-month absence and publicly disclosed the reason for his time away. Kean said he was being treated for depression.
His last recorded House vote was March 5.Since then, he missed 100 votes while providing few public details about his condition.
