Today marks 16 years since the remarkable "Miracle on the Hudson" incident, in which US Airways Flight 1549 made an emergency landing on the Hudson River.

On Jan. 15, 2009, the plane took off from LaGuardia Airport but lost engine power after hitting a flock of geese.

Thanks to the heroic actions of Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the Coast Guard, the FDNY, and over a dozen ferries, all 155 people on board were rescued.

The successful landing and subsequent rescue operation will always be remembered as a testament to bravery, quick thinking, and effective teamwork.
