Some Red Bank residents say a liquor store is ruining their quality of life.
The owner of Best Liquors is charged with five incidents of selling alcohol to minors. He is also charged with selling contraband cigarettes. Some residents add that the corner of Leighton Avenue and Catherine Street, where the store is located, is a hot spot for drugs, prostitution and loitering.
Meanwhile, the owner has put up no loitering signs on the side of his building. He also had a mural painted to crackdown on graffiti.
The owner?s lawyer said he will comment on the allegations during an administrative hearing with the Borough Council. The Council will forward its findings to Alcohol Beverage Control, which will decide whether to renew the store?s liquor license.
