Raritan Valley Line to resume full service Thursday after Conrail derailment

New Jersey Transit’s Raritan Valley Line will resume its full regular weekday service on Thursday, following a Conrail freight train derailment in Union Township earlier this week.
The line was operating on a modified schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday after 20 freight train cars derailed a short distance away from Union Station.
Crews spent all day Tuesday and Wednesday cleaning up the aftermath of the crash. There were no injuries or hazardous material issues.
The cause of the derailment was not immediately known.
