The ocean was off limits to swimmers Saturday in Asbury Park due to large waves and dangerous rip currents caused by tropical depression Danny.
Though the storm was downgraded, areas along the Jersey Shore saw rain, wind and rough seas. Some shop owners at the Asbury Park boardwalk say beachgoers were looking for other ways to spend time, since they couldn't swim. Phil Browne, of Brielle's Cyclery, says vacationers still rented bikes and business wasn't really affected.
Residents visiting the shore say, rain or shine, they enjoyed the last weekend of August before school starts again.
