Rain leads to cancellation of multiple NJ Memorial Day parades

Many towns are also moving Memorial Day services indoors.

Morning showers across New Jersey will give way to drier, cloudy conditions, but not in time for many Memorial Day parades to continue as scheduled.

As rain continues to fall, many towns have made the decision to cancel or postpone their Memorial Day parades today. But while rain will dampen parade plans, many towns will still gather for ceremonies to remember those who died in service to this country.

ESSEX COUNTY

Maplewood
-Parade cancelled. Annual Duck Race is still on, along with the Memorial day remembrance service at town hall.

Millburn
-Parade is still on with memorial service to follow at Taylor Park.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY

Edison
-Parade is canceled. Officials are working to reschedule.

Piscataway
-Parade is still on.

Middlesex Borough
-Parade is still on.

MONMOUTH COUNTY

Fair Haven
-Parade is canceled. Residents will gather at Sickles School for a service.

Holmdel
- Annual New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial and Museum ceremony still taking place at the memorial in Holmdel. U.S. Congressman Dr. Herb Conaway is slated to be the keynote speaker for the event.

MORRIS COUNTY

Denville
-Parade is still on

UNION COUNTY

Cranford
-Parade is canceled. A ceremony honoring fallen veterans will take place in the high school auditorium.

Summit
-Parade is cancelled. A ceremony honoring the fallen will be held at the Village Green.
