Rain, wind and some snow kept Sussex County residents from picking the perfect pumpkin Saturday, just two weeks before Halloween.
Owners of nurseries in Sparta and Andover say they were already struggling to make ends meet while residents are cutting back on their holiday spending, but the inclement weather has put an even bigger damper on sales.
Donna Traylor, an agriculture resource specialist in Sussex County, says many nurseries and farmers markets have suffered a significant drop in sales and agriculture-based tourism.
