The decomposing body of a Newark community activist has been found inside his home.
Published reports identify him as Gary Freda, a democratic leader of the city's Central Ward.
Authorities found his decomposing body yesterday in his Park Avenue home. Sources tell News 12 New Jersey that Freda was apparently tied up and had been dead for awhile.
Freda may have been writing letters to the city about drug use in the area.
