The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, Cardinal Joseph Tobin, led a procession this morning, calling on the Trump Administration and Congress to stop what it calls ‘the inhumanity toward immigrant children.’

A coalition of Catholic advocates and immigrants from around the U.S, and around the world, were outside the ICE office at the Federal Building on Broad Street supporting the Archbishop in his call for the Trump Administration to end the detention of immigrant children and families.

The procession began at St. Mary's Church/Newark Abbey with a prayer service, then continued to the Federal Building.

Cardinal Joseph Tobin says the goal is to put a face on the immigrants he believes are being treated inhumanely.

People supporting the protest include students from as far away as Brazil.
