The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office confirms that the homicide of 51-year-old Russel Heller was due to prior employment disciplinary actions between subordinate and supervisor.
Officials say Heller was shot on Wednesday upon arriving at a PSE&G facility in Franklin Township. According to authorities, 58-year-old suspect, Gary T. Curtis fled the scene and then killed himself hours later in a Bridgewater parking lot.

Law enforcement officials also stated that Mr. Heller was the intended target, and the shooting was an isolated incident.

Officials confirmed once again that even though Mr. Heller was a Republican councilman for Milford borough, his killing is not connected with his elected position or political affiliation.
PSE&G declined to comment on the workplace complaints between Mr. Curtis and Mr. Heller.
