A Warren Township man who runs a fuel delivery trucking company has been charged with insurance fraud.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office says 36-year-old Rajinder S. Randhawa allegedly misrepresented the company’s garaging location on a commercial auto policy application.
He claimed that eight of his trucks were kept in Bridgewater. However, an audit showed that the vehicles were at a garage in Linden.
Authorities say the misrepresentation allowed Randhawa to pay a much lower premium on the policy. In a six-month timeframe, he saved over $200,000.
He was released following his arrest and is awaiting a court appearance.
