Two sisters killed in a Thanksgiving Day house fire in the City of Orange have been identified.
The fire at 660 Mosswood Ave. was reported around 5 p.m. Thursday.
The victims were identified as Frantzia Fleury, 49, and Pojanee Fluery, 42. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office says that the sisters were reportedly trying to help their disabled father get out of the home. The sisters were pronounced dead around 7 p.m.
The father and six other people inside the house were able to get out unharmed.
The American Red Cross was at the site on Thursday and confirmed it was helping a family of eight with emergency financial help.
City of Orange Fire Chief Derek Brown tells News 12 that the fire started on the second floor of the home. The cause was not immediately known.
