A Lacey Township woman has been charged with aggravated manslaughter after her 2-year-old son died from ingesting fentanyl.
The Ocean County prosecutor says that police were called to Natalie Sabie’s home on Sept. 7 after she reported that her son was unresponsive.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful. The boy was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River and pronounced dead.
The prosecutor says that the child died from “acute fentanyl intoxication,” according to a toxicology report.
Sabie is also charged with three counts of child endangerment and possession of fentanyl.
