The
Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a man
from Jersey City wanted for the death of his 60-year-old mother has been
arrested.
According to authorities, Terrance
Nelson, 29, was arrested Sunday at his mother’s home at 18 Virginia Ave.
home Sunday just after 8 a.m. He is charged with murder.
Officers
and firefighters responded last Thursday just before 1 a.m. to a call of a
disturbance at the home. When they arrived, the woman, later identified as
Jacqueline Nelson, was found in critical condition on the building's first floor.
She
was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The cause and manner of
death are pending. The fire was reported under control around 1:21 a.m.
