The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has announced that a man is in custody for a deadly stabbing at a Jersey City Light Rail station.
Anthony Bell, 37, of Jersey City, has been charged with murder in the death of Kenneth Brown, 49, also of Jersey City. He was arrested Saturday.
Police were notified Friday of an injured person on the platform of the Danforth Avenue Light Rail Station. Officers found a male, later identified as Brown, with an apparent stab wound to his upper body. He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner's Office.
It’s the first homicide of the year in Hudson County.
Bell now sits in the Hudson County Correctional Facility awaiting trial.
