A Plainfield man is accused of sexually assaulting two children at a church in North Plainfield, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officials say that Pierre Joseph, 68, assaulted a 9-year-old boy in January or February of this year, and a 7-year-old boy on June 23.

The children told police that Joseph allegedly followed them into the bathroom and touched their private parts.

Joseph was arrested on June 23 and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault. He is being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
