A Hoboken teacher is facing charges for allegedly engaging in sexual conversations and sharing explicit images with a minor online.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office says Eric Schau, 32, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Officials say that Schau, of Jersey City, was a teacher at Elysian Charter School in Hoboken. He has since been fired from the position.

Schau is accused of talking to a 14-year-old girl over the social media platform Discord. He allegedly engaged in sexually explicit dialogue and shared an explicit image. He is also accused of receiving “child sex abuse” material from the teen.

Schau is at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing on March 7.
