A puppy found emaciated and starving in Neptune over the weekend is improving.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office says that the 8-week-old pit bull mix named Matilda has come a long way. They say that she is eating and even socializing with other dogs.

The puppy was found near Myrtle Avenue. Officials say that she was very thin and was shaking.
