A gunman fatally shot a 21-month-old toddler and his 21-year-old uncle while the family sat on their porch in Orange, according to the Essex County Prosecutor.
Officials say that four people were shot while sitting in front of the house on the 200 block of Cleveland Street around 3 p.m. Thursday. The gunman apparently walked up to them while they sat on the porch and opened fire. The family tried to scramble inside.
Toddler Marcus Milien and his 21-year-old uncle Morlens Milice were killed. Milien's father and a 15-year-old boy were also shot, but survived.
An Audi vehicle was found on fire not too far from the scene and investigators are trying to determine what role, if any, the vehicle played in the shooting.
