A Carteret man is facing charges, accused of killing his own grandmother, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities say that Carteret police were called to Taylor Avenue for reports of a man walking around who was covered in blood. Police eventually located this man, identified as 26-year-old Cyril Lloyd.

Officials say that when the officers took Lloyd back to his home, they found 77-year-old Juanita Quinones unresponsive, with what appeared to be multiple head wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lloyd was charged with first-degree murder and weapons charges.

He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.
