Prosecutor: Authorities capture fugitive wanted in connection to Ocean County killing
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office says that authorities have captured a man wanted in connection to a killing in the county earlier this month.
Jared Krysiak, 34, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with hindering apprehension and desecration of human remains.
Krysiak is one of four people facing charges related to the death of 56-year-old Kerry Rollason on July 3.
Officials say that Rollason was killed at a home on Ravenwood Drive in Toms River by Maxwell Johnston, a man also accused of killing 25-year-old Gabriella Caroleo on June 27.
Johnston took his own life on July 5 following a seven-hour standoff with police at the Ravenwood Drive home.
During the investigation, police uncovered evidence of Rollason’s killing, which led them to a home Toms River Drive in Jackson Township where they found Rollason’s remains in several black bags.
Investigators say that Krysiak, along with Danielle Bolstad, Jarred Palumbo and Elizabeth Mascarelli helped Johnston dispose of Rollason’s body.
Officials say that Rollason owned the Ravenwood Drive home in Toms River where the standoff occurred.
