What would you do to help your neighbor? Give them a cup of sugar when they need it? Help them shovel the snow in their driveway? How about giving them a kidney?
April is National Donate Life Month, organized to promote organ donation. But it didn't take a special month for one South Orange man to decide to become a donor. All it took was a neighbor in need. Specifically, his next-door neighbor.
Michael Sang, who was suffering from kidney failure, got a new lease on life last June when doctors at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston gave him a new kidney donated by his next-door neighbor Steve Mura.
On today's episode of "Brian's Positively New Jersey," Brian Donohue talks with the two men and the doctor who performed this rare neighbor-to-neighbor transplant.
