Police: Woman robbed at gunpoint in Newark; suspects flee in Honda HR-V

A male passenger exited the car, brandished a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings, including her car keys.

A woman was robbed at gunpoint in Newark last week while exiting her parked vehicle.
Police say at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, a dark-colored, four-door Honda HR-V sedan with a sunroof and dull metallic rims approached the victim near South 16th Street. A male passenger exited the car, brandished a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings, including her car keys.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned African-American, approximately 5'7" tall with a medium build, wearing all-black clothing and a ski mask.
The driver of the Honda HR-V remained in the vehicle, which fled northbound on South 16th Street toward Avon Avenue after the robbery.
The victim's vehicle was not taken, and no injuries were reported.
No injuries were reported. Newark police are urging anyone with information to call them at (877) 695-8477.
