Police say a woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Bayonne, and a search is now underway for the driver.
It happened just before 8 p.m. Friday in the busy area of 32nd Street and Broadway. The woman was struck and thrown as she was attempting to cross.
Police say the suspect was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck.
The 72-year-old victim died at the hospital. She has not yet been identified by police.
Investigators are now reviewing surveillance video from a nearby business.
Anyone with information on the driver is urged to call police.
