Newark police are looking for three men they say incited a riot and assaulted police officers.

Police say Darnee Thomas, Isaiah Diggs, and a third man attacked police officers early Friday morning.

One officer was putting a suspect into his car when he was attacked from behind.

Another officer tried to help but was then strangled by the suspect, while a crowd began to form.

A third officer tried to control the crowd but was then hit in the elbow.

Anyone with information is asked to call Newark police.
