Law enforcement officials say that a threat made against Carteret schools on social media was not credible.
The post stated that there could be a shooting at either Carteret High School or Junior High School on Thursday. Police say that they questioned the juvenile who allegedly made the post and deemed that there was no threat.
Some students tell News 12 that they were worried as they were dropped off at school.
"We were kind of nervous, but you know, I know that they'll keep us safe, and I don't wanna risk losing a day of schoolwork,” says Maya Gad.
No information was made available on the juvenile who allegedly made the threat.
Meanwhile, a social media threat made toward Newark schools resulted in the arrest of three teenagers. They now face multiple charges including third-degree terroristic threats and fourth-degree cyber harassment. Police are still looking for a fourth suspect in that incident.
