Police say that a supposed threat against Ridgewood High School on Monday was a false alarm.
A threat was called in at the high school on Monday. Many police officers came to the school and students were seen standing around outside.
But police officials tell News 12 that this was a swatting incident – an incident where someone calls in a fake threat with the intent of bringing police to a location. They say that there is no danger to the community.
This is the latest in a series of swatting incidents that have happened at New Jersey schools recently.
Students at Orange High School were on lockdown for several hours last week after a threat was called in. Police say that incident was a false alarm as well.
