Police: Suspicious man breaks into female Rutgers student’s bedroom
The New Brunswick and Rutgers University police departments are looking for a man accused of breaking into a female student’s bedroom in the middle of the night.
Police say that the student was awoken around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday to find the man inside her bedroom in her Stone Street home. When she confronted the man, he escaped through a back door, according to police.
The suspect is described as a black man, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He had short braids and was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and black pants, according to police.
Anyone who may have information about the break-in is asked to call New Brunswick Police Detective Drew Weiss at 732-745-5217.
Authorities are warning students to keep their doors and windows closed and locked when they are not at home or asleep as the weather gets warmer.
