Multiple students were hurt when their school bus crashed into a tree in Monroe Township Thursday afternoon, according to the police.
Monroe Township police say the crash happened around 3 p.m. near North State Home Road. They say the bus drove off the roadway and crashed into a tree on the driver’s side of the bus.
Police say one student suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital. Three others were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. They also say that several other students were evaluated at the scene and released to their parents.
It was not immediately clear why the bus drove off the road.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 732-521-0222 Ext. 126 to report what they saw.
