Authorities are searching for the person responsible for a smash-and-grab early Thursday morning at an eyewear store in Asbury Park.
Police said the break-in happened around 6 a.m. at All Eyes on You on Bangs Avenue.
The vandal used a planter from down the street to smash in the store’s window, leaving a mess of broken glass. Authorities said several high-end frames were stolen.
All Eyes on You owner Dr. Bill Fridel said Thursday’s robbery was the first time he’s had anyone break in during his 10 years of running the store.
Fridel told News 12 New Jersey that he plans on staying despite the theft and damage done to his store.
The store was back open Thursday afternoon. Asbury Park police are reviewing any security video taken in the area, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call them.
