Police in Union County are investigating a series of violent robberies and are seeking the public’s help to obtain information.
The robberies have been committed in Plainfield. Police say that the suspects appear to be targeting lone Hispanic men throughout the city.
Police say that crimes appear to be committed by a group of two to four Black men utilizing stolen vehicles.
“The investigation into these intolerable attacks has been ongoing and was ramped up after four robberies of Hispanic males were reported over this past weekend,” Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said in a statement.
Officials say that it appears that these most recent robberies may be connected to numerous other robberies that date back to the spring.
Authorities have released surveillance videos of the robberies in the hope that members of the public recognize the suspects.
Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Plainfield Police Sgt. Thomas Collina at 732-620-2209 or Union County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Alex Lanza at 908- 672-2011.
