Police seek 2 men who abandoned 4 hairless cats in need of medical attention in Hopatcong

The cats required medical attention and are believed to be part of a larger pattern of incidents at animal shelters in Sussex and Morris counties.

Police in Sussex County are looking for two people who abandoned four hairless cats in need of medical attention.

It happened last Thursday around 5 a.m.

The Peterbald cats were found in cardboard carriers outside Lakeside Construction on Sparta Road in Hopatcong Borough.

Surveillance cameras caught the culprits in action.

Police say two other similar incidents involve the same suspects, carriers and breed of cats.

"Ask for help. We are always willing to help. If we cannot help, we will find somebody that can help. There are plenty of rescues in our area and resources. this is just not the answer," said Hopatcong police Humane Law Enforcement Officer Gianna DiMatteo.

Hopatcong police ask anyone Who recognizes these men or the white Toyota Tundra vehicle they are driving to call the Hopatcong Police Department at 973-398-5000.
