Police search for trio after violent Hunts Point bodega assault

Investigators say a 40-year-old man became involved in an argument with three unidentified people when one suspect pulled out a firearm and punched the victim in the face.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying three men wanted in connection with a violent assault inside a Hunts Point bodega.

The NYPD says the incident happened just before midnight on Feb. 19, inside a store at 772 Hunts Point Ave.

Investigators say a 40-year-old man became involved in an argument with three unidentified people when one suspect pulled out a firearm and punched the victim in the face.

Police say a second suspect then pistol-whipped the man multiple times in the head, causing a laceration. They say that during the chaos, shots were fired inside the store, damaging property.

EMS took the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
