Police are searching for suspects in an armed robbery of two Rutgers University students, who were held at gunpoint just two blocks from their dorm Thursday night.
Police say the two students were on their way from Hope Manor Drive to Rockoff Hall, when they were approached from behind by two men with handguns. According to police, the men demanded the victims remove their jackets and empty their pockets.
The victims also reported that a third man joined their two attackers. After robbing the students, police say the three suspects fled from the scene. The victims were not injured.
Rutgers students say they were notified of the incident via e-mail by the school?s public safety department.
Students say Thursday?s incident made them more cautious and aware of where they live.
"I know the sections in which I would walk with friends,? says one student. ?I wouldn't walk in the downtown too late at night."
It is now believed there could be witnesses to this armed robbery.
