Police are calling two separate incidents in Carteret Park ?bias attacks,? but still have no suspects.
Gagandeep Singh, 10, lives in the Sikh community of Carteret Park. While walking home from school, Singh was held to the ground by an unknown assailant who removed his turban and cut his hair, police say. After the attack, he told his mother, who quickly called authorities.
Officials say the second attack was inflicted upon Ajit Singh Chima, 69, who is also a Sikh. Police say he went for a walk around 4 a.m. when a man between the ages of 20 and 25 punched him in the face and kicked him on the ground. Nothing was stolen from him at the scene.
Police are asking for anyone with any information about these attacks to come forward.
