The body of 20-year-old Sarah Butler, of Montclair, was found in in the woods at Eagle Rock Reservation on Thursday. A day later, authorities announced that her death had been ruled a homicide and that her remains had been left at the scene.

Butler was first reported missing on Nov. 23. She had been seen driving her mother's Dodge Caravan the previous night.
Her family had put up fliers around town as search efforts for her were underway. They say she was an avid dancer who was studying media arts at New Jersey City University.
The school released a statement saying, "NJCU is devastated by the tragic and senseless loss of Sarah Butler, whose life touched so many throughout the campus community and beyond."
