Authorities in Union County say that a 27-year-old man defecated in his pants so that officers would not arrest him.
Linden police were called to the 800 block of North Wood Avenue just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of a disorderly person.
Police says officers found Plainfield resident Kyle Chambliss sitting inside his car speaking loudly on his cellphone. Officers allegedly smelled alcohol coming from Chambliss and they asked him to get out of the car.
Police say that Chambliss became aggressive with the officers after they told him to end his call. When he was told he was being placed under arrest, Chambliss allegedly told officers that he had to defecate himself and proceeded to do so to keep the officers at bay, according to police.
When the officers tried to put Chambliss in handcuffs, he allegedly attacked them. Police officers had to douse him with pepper spray, according to a media release.
Police say Chambliss later complained of difficulty breathing and was taken to Trinitas Hospital for treatment by the Linden Fire Department ambulance. He was later released to police.
Chambliss was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $65,000.
