A pedestrian struck by a car has injuries considered to be “very serious,” according to Middletown police.

Police: Pedestrian ‘very seriously’ injured in Middletown crash
A pedestrian struck by a car has injuries considered to be “very serious,” according to Middletown police.
The crash happened Monday afternoon near Sunnyside Road and Middletown-Lincroft Road in Middletown. The pedestrian was hit and the car then crashed into a nearby creek.
Police say that the pedestrian is a 59-year-old Middletown woman. She was taken to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
The driver was identified as an 85-year-old Middletown woman who stayed at the scene following the crash. Police say that she is cooperating with the investigation.
No summonses have been issued at this time, according to authorities.
