A couple of police officers in Wanaque saw a different kind of chase this weekend.

A family’s pet pig escaped from their backyard of a home near the reservoir in town.            

Officers tracked it down, and brought it home safely.

The police department said on Twitter, "Yea, we know. The jokes are obvious. But 27,000 calls this year so far but this is a first."
