Police: Men accused of stealing catalytic converters in Teaneck face new charges in Middlesex

Authorities say Omar Fernandez, 31, and Gabriel Burgos, 31, are facing multiple charges.

Two men from the Bronx previously accused of stealing catalytic converters in Teaneck, are now facing charges in Middlesex Borough.
Authorities say Omar Fernandez, 31, and Gabriel Burgos, 31, are facing 20 counts of theft, 19 counts of criminal mischief, 19 counts of conspiracy to commit theft and 19 counts of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief. They say the charges stem from a rash of thefts that happened in Middlesex Borough between December 2022 and February 2023. The pair allegedly targeted Honda vehicles in the town.
Fernandez and Burgos were also charged in June for allegedly stealing catalytic converters in Teaneck between Jan. 21 and 31
Police are warning residents to lock and secure their vehicles and homes and to be vigilant of any suspicious activity.
